Reflection of the Past: A 10-Day Photo Exhibition Unveiling the Splendour of Sikh History

Timeless Amritsar proudly presents "Reflection of the Past: Re-Discovering Sikh History & Heritage," a captivating 10-day photo exhibition that opened its doors to heritage lovers, historians, and art connoisseurs. The exhibition was inaugurated by Ms. Gursimranjeet Kaur, PCS a senior government functionary and an accomplished artist, whose presence highlighted the significance of preserving and showcasing Sikh heritage in modern times.

These visual gems are part of the private collection of Parampal Singh Ahluwalia, founder Itihaas-the history. He is a passionate collector of Sikh heritage, whose dedication has preserved these narratives of the past. The original artworks featured in this exhibition are housed in prestigious museums and private archives across the globe, brought together here for public viewing in Amritsar.

Curated with passion and precision by Smiley Chaudhary, a G20-certified sculptor and art curator, the exhibition showcases 31 rare works—high-resolution photo reproductions of historical paintings and artworks that trace the architectural and cultural evolution of the Harmandir Sahib, depictions of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, and pivotal moments from the British era in Punjab.

The opening day reception was an intimate gathering of heritage enthusiasts, artists, scholars, and members of the Punjabi Chamber of Commerce. Guests were welcomed with traditional instrumental music that set the tone for an immersive cultural experience. The inauguration was followed by a guided walkthrough led by the curator, offering deep insights into the stories behind each artwork. The atmosphere was one of reverence, pride, and reflection—a heartfelt tribute to Punjab's layered history.

Held at the Timeless Amritsar Gallery, the exhibition is not just a display—it’s a journey through time. Visitors will witness how the Golden Temple has transformed over centuries, understand the valour and vision of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, and gain deeper insights into the colonial transitions that shaped Punjab.

The event is proudly supported by Singh Dental Care , The Dot Zot and the Punjabi Chamber of Commerce, who believe in fostering a stronger connection between communities and their cultural roots.

Whether you're a history buff, a curious traveller, or someone with a deep love for Punjab’s heritage, this exhibition offers a rare opportunity to rediscover the past and reflect on its legacy.
